for Tardive Dyskinesia in Adults

What to expect
during treatment

Once your healthcare provider prescribes AUSTEDO XR® to help treat your Tardive Dyskinesia (TD), it’s important to know what to expect. The timeline below provides an overview of the stages of a typical treatment journey with AUSTEDO XR.

Filling your prescription

Your healthcare provider may write your prescription on paper and have you bring it to your pharmacy, or they may send it electronically to your pharmacy.

A pharmacy will process
your prescription using the
information provided.

Your prescription will be
filled by your pharmacy.

After you receive your prescription, discuss any additional questions you have about how to take AUSTEDO XR with the pharmacist or your healthcare provider.

Reaching your appropriate dose

AUSTEDO XR offers multiple effective
dosing options. It’s important to take
AUSTEDO XR exactly as your healthcare
provider tells you to take it.

Your healthcare provider will adjust your dose up or down in the first few weeks of treatment. This is known as titration. The benefit of titration is that your healthcare provider can find the dose that provides effective movement reduction while ensuring the medicine is tolerated. Find more details on titrating AUSTEDO XR on the Dosing Information page.

The Progress Tracker and
Activity Log included in the Treatment Tracking Guide are designed to help you and your healthcare provider see the progress of treatment over time.
It can also help your healthcare provider determine whether your treatment plan needs
to be adjusted both during the titration period and with your maintenance dose.

Staying on track

It may take time to see results, so whether you see progress as expected or not, it’s important to keep taking your medication as prescribed. If you have concerns, talk to your healthcare provider so they can make adjustments as necessary.
