In one study based on AUSTEDO® (deutetrabenazine) tablets, the most common side effects included inflammation of the nose and throat (nasopharyngitis) and problems sleeping (insomnia).

4% of participants taking AUSTEDO had to lower their dose due to side effects vs 2% taking placebo.

Other side effects of AUSTEDO included depression, restlessness, agitation, and a strong urge to move (akathisia).

first few weeks of treatment to help maximize symptom control
